Cinnamon Rolls
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
10 cups flour
3 teaspoons salt
3/4 cup warm water
3 tablespoons yeast
2 tablespoons
Cinnamon Mix water and yeast, set aside. Mix milk, shortening, sugar, eggs, and salt. Add yeast and flour, knead. Let rise, roll out dough, brush with margarine. Mix together about 2 tablespoons of Cinnamon and 1 1/4 cups of brown sugar, put on dough. Roll up, cut, and put on buttered pans. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes.

Fresh Peach Pie
1 cup sugar
2 cups water
fresh peaches
2 tablespoons corn starch
1 small package peach jell-o
whipped cream Mix sugar and corn starch in sauce pan. Add water and bring to a boil. Stir in jello until it is dissolved. Chill mixture in refrigerator until it starts to thicken. Pour in baked pie shell in layers with sliced fresh peaches. Make sure each peach slice is coated with jello mixiure, so it won't turn dark. Serve with whipped cream.

Spaghetti Soup

1 onion chopped
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 quarts tomato juice
3/4 pound hamburger browned
1 handful of spaghetti
4 diced carrots
3 medium potatoes chopped
3 teaspoons beef bullion
1/2 quart water
3 bay leaves
Brown hamburger, add all ingredients except spaghetti into a large pan. Simmer until vegetables are tender. Add spaghetti just before soup is done.

Date Filled Cookies
Cookies:
1 cup shortening
3 eggs
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoons vanilla
Filling:
2 cups ground dates
1/2 cup water
3/4 cup sugar Cook filling ingredients until thickened, cool.
Cream sugar, shortening, eggs, water, and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Roll out dough and cut out cookies. put 1 teaspoon filling between two cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

White Cake with Strawberry Topping
1 white cake mix
2 cups cool whip
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 8 ounce package f cream cheese
2 cups powdered sugar
1 large package danish dessert
2 packages frozen or fresh strawberries, or raspberries
1 1/2 cups water Mix 1 white cake mix according to package directions, bake in a cookie sheet.
Mix softened cream cheese, cool whip, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Spread on cooled cake.
Mix danish desert and water. Follow instructions on box. Add strawberries. Cool and pour over cake. Keep refrigerated.

2 tablespoons yeast

2 2/3 cup water
1/4 cups sugar
1 tablespoon salt

5 cups flour Mix yeast and 3/4 cup water. Add salt, sugar, shortening and remaining water. Add 2 1/2 cups flour, mix. Add remaining flour, knead. Let raise until double in bulk. Put in loaf tins, let raise until double in bulk. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees or 375 degrees.

Grandma Hall's Soap
6 cans lye
10 quart buckets of hot water
24 pounds grease
Put grease, lye, and 2 buckets of hot water in a drum cut in half. Boil until grease is dissolved, add the rest of the water. Stir after each bucket is added. It will go thick and string from stirring stick. Put half in a no. 3 tub rinsed with cooled water. when hard, about 2 days, cut and dry. Stores well.
Note: I doubt anyone will use this, but thought it was a good reminder of how it used to be.

Syrup:

2 tablespoons butter
Pudding:
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup raisins
Mix all ingredients to make batter. Drop in spoonfuls on top of syrup mixture. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

Jell-O Dessert
Crust:
3 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
4 teaspoons margarine
Filling:
1 can evaporated milk
3/4 cup hot water
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 package jell-o
1 cup sugar
Crust: Line a 13 x 9 cake pan with half of the graham cracker mixture. Save the other half for the top.
Boil 1 can evaporated milk, in can for 5 minutes. Chill and whip. Mix jell-o (Red or lemon) in water, add sugar and lemon juice, dissolve well, cool. Cool until syrupy. Add to whipped milk. Pour on top of graham cracker crumbs. Sprinkle remaining crumbs on top. Chill.

2 teaspoons soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2/3 cups raisins
2 2/2 cup sugar
2/3 cup water
3 1/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cloves
2/3 cup nuts
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs, water, and applesauce. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Grease very well 8 wide mouth pint jars. Fill half full. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes on a cookie sheet. Have lids hot and apply to bottles. Seal as soon as removed from oven.

American Hambrger Soup

3/4 cups diced celery
2 cups canned tomatoes
2 tablespoons minced green pepper
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
3 1/2 teaspoons salt
little pepper
2 cups cubed potatoes
2 tablespoons minced parsley
1 teaspoon sugar
2 medium onions chopped
1 large bay leaf
1 small garlic button
1 1/2 quarts water
6 whole allspice
1/4 cup barley or raw rice
Put all ingredients in a large kettle. Add water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and cook slowly several hours with lid on.

1 1/4 cup warm water
1 tablespoon yeast
2 1/2 tablespoon sugar
1 egg
2 1/2 cups flour (may need more)
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cube margarine
garlic salt
dill weed
parmesan cheese
Mix all ingredients together, dough will be sticky. Let rise 1 hour. 1/2 cube margarine, garlic salt, dill weed and Parmesan cheese. Roll out to desired thickness, about 1/2". Cut in strips, about 1 1/2" wide. Melt butter on large cookie sheet in the oven. Sprinkle garlic salt and dill weed over the butter. Dip bread sticks on both sides as you put them on the pan. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Let rise 1 hour. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
