1 cup sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 cup soft shortening
1 cup milk
1 egg
Sift dry ingredients into a mixing bowl. Cut in shortening until well blended. Beat milk and egg together. Mix with dry ingredients until just blended. Pour into a well buttered 8 inch square pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes or until done. Serve warm.

I'm going to try this one, too. Mamo made the most amazing cornbread, and I don't have a good recipe. If it turns out well, I'll take a picture. =)
