1 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 heaping tablespoon baking powder
flour to make a soft batter
1/2 teaspoon soda
1 cup melted shortening
1/2 teaspoon soda
1 tablespoon vanilla Mix together buttermilk and soda. Add sugar, shortening, and eggs, mix. Add soda, salt, baking powder, and flour. Roll out to about 1/4 i. in shapes. Put on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Frost.
